Notes - Was a Lt. Colonel in the liberation army in Cuba 1895. His name is listed in an official book/listing published in Cuba in the early 1900's of all the veterans of the war of independence. I was able to see an original of this book at a book-fair in Miami. The book is known as the Roloff book, named after the officer who compiled the information for the new congress in Cuba. Cubans refer to these men as Mambises, a term that comes with a great deal of respect and admiration.
